Jim Richter Mandolin Blues Lick of the Day #31

Today we look at a lick in G.  This could be played against a major or minor chord, or even used in a modal piece.  It’s very Sam Bush-ish in the way it looks at the G minor pentatonic especially farther up the neck on the D string (rather than playing everything in 1st position).  Sam–in tunes like Sting Ray and Diadem–often would play these rolling note patterns on one string.  Grisman is another who does that (like EMD and others).    Play it slinky an funky!
