Blues Mandolin Lesson: SRV’s “Pride and Joy”

When I was younger, I lived and breathed SRV.  In the early 1990s when I was gigging out as an early 20-something, I played in a three piece band with my brother, Phil.  That power trio focused on SRV, Trower, ZZ Top, and Cream.  I used to wear a duster and a Spanish bolero hat with silver concha’s.  We played Cold Shot, Lenny, Little Wing, Change It, House is a Rocking, Crossfire, and of course, Pride and Joy.

This arrangement shows how to apply the Texas blues to mandolin.
